The motto of the Power Play Hockey League is frequently used –
“It’s Not Just a Sport, It’s a Culture”
but what does it really mean and what is our message in saying it?
PPHL is built upon Military and Family values. The Owners of PPHL, Shawn Connors and Johnny Kula, are both Army veterans, and have founded this company military values that were imbedded upon them while serving this great country. These values are based off of the acronym – ‘LDRSHIP’ (Leadership), which is how the true culture was born at the Power Play Hockey League (PPHL).
So what is LDRSHIP?
L – Loyalty. PPHL has been and will stay loyal to their Players and Sponsors by giving them the best product in the hockey industry. Even when it can be enough, Power Play is looking to make the Adult Hockey world even greater.
D – Duty. It is the duty of the League to continue to offer the best product to their Players. If PPHL is not continuing to better their product, then it is a failed mission.
R – Respect. The culture of PPHL heavily stresses the respect of one another. The respect towards the customers – our players. Constant backing of our On-ice AND Off-ice Officials, and stating to all players that respect must be given to our authority on the ice. By respecting everyone, we are ultimately respecting the greatest piece of it all – the game of Hockey.
S – Selfless Service. Putting the well-being of our Players, Referees, Scorekeepers, and Staff before ourselves. Nothing gives PPHL greater pleasure than to see the happiness of our customers and staff.
H – Honor. Power Play Hockey League educates all new staff and keeps all current staff to follow the code, this honor to be the best Adult Hockey League and provide the best product to our friends and family.
I – Integrity. One of the most important pieces to the word. Shawn has brought on new investors who has followed this type of code before joining PPHL. If the ownerships integrity is positive and rightfully moral, then all will be influenced by positivity and will influence the entire network connected to Power Play Hockey League.
P – (Personal) Courage. When times get tough, we do not give up. Just like in a hockey game, we battle for sixty-minutes – same for PPHL. There were times it was hard building the name, and there will be times in the future where the going will get tough. However, PPHL is founded upon a solid foundation and principles that will never allow this foundation to break.
To answer the question above – What does it really mean? What message is PPHL sharing when saying their Motto – “It’s Not Just a Sport, It’s a Culture” ?
The message is clear, Power Play Hockey League provides the product of Adult Hockey, however, it is FAR GREATER than just Hockey. The game of Hockey unites us, removes our stress, brings us together, provides and strengthens friendships, and through our motto is where you will find our values and passion of the game of Hockey.
THIS is our Culture, THIS is our Motto, and THIS is our Mission Statement to our Players.
